# CHK123 — responsibility & Install policy

## You're responsible for what you run

If you use CHK123, **you** are **solely responsible** for:

- every checklist, Section, check, limit, and timer you run or edit
- every rule, formula, comparison, safety check, and limit you enter
- setup diagrams in your local folder (including copyright / permission)
- your **local** library on the device
- any file you **Export** or **Install from file**

The `local` provenance label is for traceability only.

CHK123 does **not** endorse manufacturers or organizations and has **no** "Verified" program.

## What CHK123 provides — and its limits

CHK123 is a **user-defined inspection, maintenance, and service documentation tool for any equipment**. It does **not** warrant safety, accuracy, or regulatory compliance, and does **not** host or sync your content between devices.

CHK123 permits users to share exported Section and Checklist `.zip` files directly with other people. The website only provides local **Export**, **Install from file**, preview, and Runner functions; it does not receive, host, list, review, approve, or redistribute peer-shared packs. There is no built-in catalog or online pack directory.

Install creates a **Local** copy bound to this device's id. Pack **Export** never includes the device id. Results (txt/PDF) include the device id for provenance.

## Diagrams

Image **files** stay in a local folder you choose. Export keeps filename relationships only — not image bytes.

## Reports

Text and PDF exports lead with **DOCUMENTATION AID ONLY**. Pass/fail and other comparison labels reflect only user-defined rules; they do not certify safety, compliance, calibration, or release to service. You remain responsible for reviewing the report.

## Donations

CHK123 does not sell checklist packs. The toolkit is free to use. Optional donations (if linked on the site) support maintenance only — they do not buy approval of content.

## Privacy, local storage, and backup

CHK123 records stay in browser storage, but the hosting provider receives ordinary web requests. User-configured barometric requests send the configured URL and optional API key to that endpoint. See [PRIVACY.md](PRIVACY.md).

Clearing site data, browser cleanup, storage eviction, device loss, or private browsing can erase the library. Use **Back up library** regularly and protect the backup and exported reports. Backups exclude diagrams, drafts, device identity, and barometric API settings.

## Intended-use boundary

Do not use CHK123 as a CMMS, validated QMS, electronic-signature or audit-trail system, medical diagnostic or treatment system, safety certification service, or the sole official record required by law or facility policy. See [TERMS.md](TERMS.md).
